Welcome back to ISMOKE Magazine! Today we are proud to present episode two in our bud facts series, in which we take a detailed look at the history of a world-famous cannabis strain and share it with the world.
In this episode, we are talking about Jack Herer, which is one of the more well-known cannabis strains. We first encountered this strain when we visited Amsterdam years ago, and since then have always made a point to pick it up whenever we could.
Did you know that the Jack Herer plant was created to honour the lifetime activist and author of the Emperor Wears No Clothes?
Sensi Seeds bred this strain in honour of Jack and gave the first plant to him.
Jack sadly passed away in 2010, after decades of campaigning.
About Jack Herer
Jack Herer is a sativa-dominant hybrid strain that has won 15 cannabis cups. Described by Sensi Seeds as the Champagne of Strains, this one is known and grown across the globe.
It is believed to be a three-way hybrid of Skunk #1, Northern Lights and Haze, although this is not known.
With a sweet, spicy and slightly earthy flavour, Jack Herer helps patients with things like anxiety, nausea, depression, migraines, stress.
There are four main phenotypes of Jack Herer, all bearing slightly different qualities – we think we have sampled at least three of them, as we certainly remember different batches of Jack Herer feeling and looking different.
